Steps to follow for using Field Agent on a mobile device - Permissions

Scanning Permissions

When using Field Agent for the first time to scan a decal, the device used will request permissions. Some or all of the following:

  • Camera

  • Location

  • Motion & Fitness

Depending on the type of device, these permissions may have different names. They all need to be granted for all of the scanning features to work properly.

If you have denied these permissions and need to re-allow them:

Android

  1. On your device, open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Apps.

  3. Tap the app you want to change (the browser you use for Field Agent). If you can't find it, tap See all apps. Then, choose your app.

  4. Tap Permissions.

    • If you denied any permissions for the app, you’ll find them here.

  5. To change a permission setting, tap it, then choose Allow.

For location, camera, and microphone permissions, choose either:

  • All the time: For location only. The app can use the permission at any time, even when you’re not using the app.

  • Allow only while using the app: The app can use the permission only when you're using that app.

iPhone

  1. Open your Settings app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap Privacy & Security.

  3. Tap Camera.

    1. Toggle on the switch next to the name of the browser you're using to give it permission to access the camera.

  4. Tap Location Services.

    1. Tap the browser app you use for Field Agent, and set the setting to either While Using the App or Always.

  5. Repeat these steps for Motion & Fitness if necessary.
